Our Sponsors and Supporters

The Greater Hartford Disc Golf Open thanks its generous sponsors, supporters and volunteers.  Without them it would not be possible to produce this year’s tournament and develop it over over thirteen seasons.  In the process we have met so many wonderful people and are always in awe of the community that surrounds this

2017 Sponsors:

Colonial Life has been  a course sponsor at hole 1 of the Wickham Park Disc Golf Course since the opening of the facility in 2004. We are honored that they have also chosen to support the 2017 GHdgO as one of our lead tournament sponsors.

For more than 75 years, Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company has had one mission: to help America’s workers preserve and protect the vitally important things they work so hard to build.

Pure Flight Disc Golf & Ultimate has been a stalwart sponsor of the GHdgO beginning in 2013 with the ninth Annual Open. Peter and Jeffery have consistently provided a friendly and knowledgeable presence at tournament central each year and have been like family to the staff of the GHdgO.

Pure Flight was founded on the principle of growing disc golf in New England and through its first three years has been successful in a number of important areas of growth. They continue to sell a large variety of disc brands and bags, and offer design and development services for course proposal and installation.

Innova Disc Golf  been a tournament sponsor since last year’s twelfth annual open. Our Course Fundraiser Discs and Amateur Player Packs were deftly produced by their services, and they have generously donated a Discatcher Sport for our CTP throw-off competition.

Today INNOVA is the most popular and complete line of golf discs. INNOVA’s precision molded discs meet the demands of any shot regardless of the player’s skill level. INNOVA golf discs offer the superior “feel” that is so critical for confident, shot making ability.

Hidden Nook Brewing is a new sponsor of the GHdgO. Patrick, the Owner and Head Brewer has developed a variety of high quality beers that satisfy a multitude of pallets.  His brews recently help set a disc golf world record of 3105 holes played within 24 hours set at Pyramids Disc Golf Course in Leicester, Massachusetts from  August 11th-12th, 2017.  Well, they certainly provided the support staff of the 24 H Grind for Hand in Hand For Lyme motivation to continue their efforts anyway.  Poor Sax Mike had to wait until after to try the delicious styles that included hefewiezen, pale ale, gose, and saison, styles nearly as diverse as the challenges he faced over 345 rounds on the 9-hole course.

A chronicle of one homebrewer’s adventures…

We are honored to have DUDE – disc golf apparel and their fabulous Flymart truck position itself at the GHdgO for the first time. They will be running the Thursday DUDE Doubles (Random Draw) event on Thursday September 8th.  Registration at 4:30 pm and tee-off at 5:00 pm.

Dude’s line of clothing is designed specifically for Disc Golf and Ultimate Frisbee. Every design aspect provides maximum player benefit for world champions through to the complete beginner. Everything has been taken into account from the breathable high quality fabric, the zippered back pockets for security, the side pockets for quick access to score cards and the high cut collar for extra sun protection and much more.
